Weekly roundup 4
It’s been a busy week and I haven’t written as much as usual.
Wayne wrote about his experience adding threads to a Windows application. Wayne’s done a lot of parallel programming, but usually on supercomputers rather than desktop computers.
I’ve been looking forward to Eric Lengyel’s new book on geometric algebra coming out and wrote a post about an example from that book, finding the distance from a point to a line. The post elaborates on how numerical issues can make elementary calculations more interesting.
The other two posts I wrote this week are brief: one on an example of a MD5 hash collision, and one on encrypted data breaches.
I’ll be at the IAPP Global Privacy Summit in DC in April. Send me a note if you’re going to be there and would like to meet in person.
