The most photogenic post since last week was on a fizz-buzz walk, taking a walk and turning according to rules based on the number of the step. For example, in the image below, you turn left on the nth step if the number n is divisible by 7 or contains a 7.
The post also has a few other variations, such as turning when n is prime.
The most mathematical post this week was on closed-form solutions to nonlinear PDEs.
One post was a sort of Fermi math exercise, a back-of-the-envelope calculation to see whether its feasible that the James Webb Space Telescope could photograph Pluto or an exoplanet.
Yesterday I wrote about playing cards, and variations such as the knight that appears in the Unicode symbols for cards but not in the standard 52-card deck.
I wrote a couple posts this morning, one on using makefiles for something other than compiling programs, and one on choosing the right level of abstraction.
These weekly roundups come out about once a week. I post a Substack note when each post comes out.
